Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Generation Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical generator systems in data centers. You will be the technical expert and primary customer liaison, ensuring communications with clients to maximize data center uptime and availability.

Responsibilities include safety adherence, timely field service repairs across sites, and detailed documentation of work performed. Relocation stipends may apply for eligible candidates.

• Lift up to 40 lbs; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 40 lbs.
• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and provided by AWS.

The Generation Service Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. The person in this role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures. As both a technical expert and primary customer support liaison, the Generator Service Technician is responsible for maintaining consistent communication with clients to ensure an exceptional customer experience while maximizing data center availability. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided by AWS.

A day in the life

The Generator Service Technician has safety, customer satisfaction, and business responsibilities within data center operations. The person in this role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures.

The Generator Service Technician is both the technical expert and primary customer support contact to the customer, and is therefore responsible for continually communicating with the customer to provide an exceptional customer experience and drive data center up-time and availability.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience in relevant work
• Can bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working
• Can use hands to manipulate small wires and objects
• Can walk on job sites in uneven terrain
• Can work at heights and from ladders

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of data center engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling
• Experience in data center engineering
• Can perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
