Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced design engineer with leadership responsibilities to drive the development of complex assemblies and mechanical systems. You will create parts definitions, 2D/3D models, tolerances, and provide guidance to ensure quality and timely execution.

Job Description Summary Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Roles and Responsibilities

Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection -typically does not require Engineering degree add non-Engineers language here Manages a small to medium team of senior professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work. Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications

At least 8 years of professional experience in technical drafting, design engineering, or a closely related manufacturing support function. Minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership or team lead capacity, demonstrating the ability to manage projects, mentor staff, and oversee technical deliverables. At least 5 years of hands-on experience utilizing industry-standard 3D CAD/PLM software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, or Creo) to develop complex assemblies and mechanical systems.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
