Job summary

Generator Supercenter is seeking a dependable Generator Mechanic / Service Technician in OKC and surrounding areas. This full-time, field-based role involves traveling to residential sites with a company vehicle, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing whole-home standby generators, including ATS systems.

You will read electrical diagrams and manuals, communicate clearly with customers, and document all work in our service software. Safety and customer service come first.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator service or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations
• Accurately document all work in our service management software
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed

We are hiring a dependable and skilled Generator Mechanic / Service Technician to join our growing team. This field-based role is ideal for candidates with mechanical and electrical repair experience—particularly with small engines, standby generators, or automatic transfer switches (ATS).

Key Responsibilities:

Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle

Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators

Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems

Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals

Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations

Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in generator service, small engine repair, or related mechanical/electrical work

Strong customer service and verbal communication skills

Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals

Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision

High school diploma or equivalent required

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Physically able to perform job duties, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in outdoor environments

Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS technology is a plus

Position Details:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional flexibility required for emergencies)

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Based on experience and skill level

Travel: Local/regional service calls using a company-provided vehicle
