Job summary

Generator Supercenter in the United States seeks a dependable Generator Mechanic - A/C Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair whole-home standby generators at residential sites. You’ll use your mechanical and electrical skills with ATS systems, read wiring diagrams, and communicate clearly with homeowners.

This full-time field role offers a company vehicle, Monday–Friday schedule, and on-going training and development to support career growth in energy reliability and backup power

Qualifications

• 1+ years in generator service or related mechanical/electrical work.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform job duties including climbing ladders and lifting.
• Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, routine maintenance, and repairs on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations.
• Accurately document all work in our service management software.
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity.
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed.

We are hiring a dependable and skilled Generator Mechanic - A/C Service Technician to join our growing team. This field-based role is ideal for candidates with mechanical and electrical repair experience—particularly with small engines, standby generators, or automatic transfer switches (ATS).
