Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services seeks a Generator Installation Technician to join our team and support the installation, start-up, and commissioning of standby and prime power generators for data centers and other customers. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Sales to meet customer needs and ensure safety and quality during on-site work.

The role requires electrical and mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and flexibility for on-call and occasional overtime, with

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from a Technical School preferred.
  • AAS Electrical Power Generator Tech is a big plus.
  • Military experience is a plus.
  • Experience with higher voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teams in the installation of critical power systems, start-up and commissioning.
  • Assist in locating space for layout and maintenance access.
  • Be involved in installation from delivery to handover.
  • Connect generators to the power distribution system.
  • Connect generators to on-site fuel sources (tank or gas lines).
  • Install monitoring equipment to track performance and health.
  • Conduct final inspection to ensure safety standards are met.

We are looking for a Generator Installation Technician to help support that mission.Job SummaryCPS&S sells, installs, maintains and services a number of brands of standby and continuous, prime power generators. These generators serve a growing list of customers, dominated by data centers. This effort requires a very specific on-site technician starting with installation.Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have some degree of prior experience with generator sets, diesel & gaseous engines and industrial / commercial electrical distribution. However, more importantly, we are looking for technicians who want to grow their skills.
