Job summary

Foley Equipment is seeking an EPG Field Technician responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing power generation systems. This hands-on role involves working on generators, engines, and related equipment to ensure excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot and repair power generation systems at customer sites.

  • Handle overtime and after-hours calls as required.

Job description

Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri.

EPG Field Technician

is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing and repairing power generation related systems, generators, engines, transfer switches, UPS and switchgear systems. You will also handle fuel polishing and load bank testing systems as needed at the customer’s worksite to respond to provide an excellent customer experience.

Hourly Base Rate:

$28.68 - $63.63 / hour

Job Duties
  • Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on power generation assemblies, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and performing all critical repairs and adjustment
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and available for after-hours calls as needed
  • Perform required DOT inspections to ensure service truck is in proper, safe working order
  • Conduct generator pre-start and start-ups in accordance with the manufacturer checklist
  • Use resistive load bank equipment for testing and repair of generators
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
Physical & Working Requirements
  • This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
  • Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
  • Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
  • Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
  • Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Safely operating tools and equipment
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Knowledge of power generator applications and repairs
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, schematics, line diagrams and other related publications.
  • Class A CDL or Class B required or ability to obtain CDL

  • Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with power generation equipment)
  • Stable work history
  • Class A CDL or Class B CDL
