Job summary

You’ll interact with controls software via a laptop to diagnose and document work. The role emphasizes hands-on engine and electrical work, safety in field service, and the ability to handle a dynamic schedule including on-call rotations

Qualifications

• Understanding of combustion engines and how generators operate.
• Solid knowledge of electrical systems in generator setups.
• Familiarity with AC power ranges and DC control voltages.
• Ability to interface laptops with generator controls software.
• Willingness to learn and train in new equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service beyond expectations on each job.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose engine and electrical repairs on generators.
• Perform work on equipment at customer sites or in the local shop.
• Operate the service truck safely and professionally.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on power generation equipment.
• Perform start-ups on new power generation equipment.
• Complete warranty work as needed.
• Process paperwork and electronic submissions promptly.
• Maintain parts inventory on the service truck.
• Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call technician schedule.
