Job description

Overview

UE Manufacturing is Now Hiring a Generator Field Service Technician III located at 10000 NW 2nd, Oklahoma City, OK 73127. Responsible for diagnosing problems and performing complex and/or major mechanical, electrical, power generation equipment repairs, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs at the customer’s place of business or on customer's field locations. Equipment to include power generation equipment, Frac equipment, coil tubing units, pumping units, and other oil field equipment.

Amount of Travel Required: 75%

Responsibilities
  • Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all problems with customer's equipment.
  • Identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Perform complex and/or major repairs on customer's equipment. Replace parts and equipment as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules.
  • Complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist lower-level Technicians in completing work assignments as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education (GED) and three to seven years related experience.
  • Preferred to be certified as an MTU CHP S5/M2.

  • Must be able to work independently. Experience with inverters (VFDs), batteries, and load banks is a plus.
  • Must be organized and able to take ownership of work areas.
  • Use a variety of electronic test equipment including DMMs, insulation testers up to 15kV, Hi-pot testers up to 34kV, thermo imaging cameras, sound meters, gas detectors, laser tachometers, and multichannel data acquisition systems.
  • Use a variety of hand, power, and precision measurement tools.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required production testing.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of diesel, gas engines, and generator technology.
  • Ability to multitask and complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.
  • The trait of being dependable and able to work independently.
Computer Skills

Basic computer navigation and utilization skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Certificates & Licenses

Technical certification in automotive, lift truck, heavy equipment and/or diesel engine repair required.

Other Requirements

Other preferred Software skills: CAT-ET, MTU Diasys, Detroit DDDL, Danfoss plus 1 service tool, Deep sea electronics, Danfoss VLT, LabVIEW, ACSELERATOR QUIKESET. Direct knowledge of all these software is not required. Will be trained in the use of diagnostic software.

Work at various customers' places of business outside and/or in a shop environment.
