Perform in-depth repairs and troubleshooting on the mechanical and electrical aspects of electrical power generation.
High school diploma required. Four years of relevant military experience or technical college in diesel or electrical technology can offset work experience by two years.
External Candidates: Minimum of 5 years experience with Automatic Transfer Switches; UPS and Switchgear experience preferred.
Internal Candidates: At least 1 year as a GPEC EPG Master Technician.
Ability to lift and handle parts up to 137 pounds and use mechanical hoists for heavier items.
Possess or acquire necessary mechanical/electrical tools; work remotely with rare trips to dispatch; write detailed repair reports; demonstrate problem-solving skills; have exposure to PC-based equipment; interface professionally with customers; maintain safety awareness around high-power circuits; respond to emergency needs.
Operate a service vehicle daily, drive long distances, and conduct activities with integrity and professionalism.
Valid driver’s license within 30 days, a safe driving record, possibly a CDL.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical power generation, familiarity with diesel and gasoline/LP engines, troubleshooting skills for systems like lubrication, cooling, fuel, generators, LP gas, instrumentation, UPS, batteries, voltage regulation, surge suppression, and controls.
Proficiency with electronic test equipment and interpretation of diagrams and flow charts.
This role may include additional duties as assigned. Major modifications require HR approval.
