Job summary

Amazon is seeking an SDE-2 to design, build, and operate software features that leverage state-of-the-art generative AI. You will own end-to-end systems from concept to production, partner with scientists, and drive scaling across hundreds of millions of customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of the software engineering lifecycle, coding standards, reviews, source control, CI/CD, testing, and operational excellence

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, development, deployment, and operational health of services leveraging LLMs and generative AI to power shopping experiences at scale
• Design and deliver distributed software features and systems powering production selection processing pipelines
• Develop deep expertise in Amazon's catalog systems and drive their evolution for next-gen selection and offer processing
• Collaborate with applied scientists and engineers to process large datasets, scale ML models, and resolve integration challenges
• Influence data enrichment pipelines, model optimization frameworks, and evaluation methodologies with clear trade-offs
• Prototype new technologies and advance generative AI techniques from prototype to production
• Own operational excellence for your systems and mentor teammates through reviews and discussions
• Share expertise and mentor junior engineers on distributed systems and generative AI
