Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer science with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's 3+ years, or PhD with no required experience.
• Experience with LLM pre-training and post-training in an industry or academic lab.
• Minimum of 3 publications in top AI venues (ACL/EMNLP/ICLR/ICML/NAACL/NeurIPS).
• Experience with ML models and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or equivalent.
• Prior experience driving research projects in industry or university labs (full-time or internship).

Responsibilities

• Produce research advances in Generative AI for networking automation and human–computer interaction.
• Explore domain-specific foundational representations for networking with differentiative value.
• Publish papers, speak at venues, and organize workshops as a thought leader.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research into practical solutions.
• Drive pre-training initiatives for foundational models across Cisco's product portfolio.
