Job summary

EY in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a senior data scientist to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced generative AI models, including large language models (LLMs), driving innovation and solving complex business challenges.

You will oversee the end-to-end data science lifecycle, mentor junior data scientists, and partner with cross-functional teams to translate sophisticated models into scalable, impactful solutions that integrate with existing business systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in machine learning, data acquisition, transformation and cleaning
• Experience with generative LLM fine-tuning and prompt engineering
• Proficiency with data wrangling, visualization, and modeling in Python
• Experience in ML/NLP algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning
• Good knowledge with cloud ecosystems, Azure is preferred
• Experience with tools in distributed computing, GPU, cloud platforms, and Big Data domains
• Experience with SQL, Document DBs and Vector DBs
• Batch Processing - handling high volumes of data efficiently
• Visualization and storytelling with data to create narratives
• Knowledge of Docker and modern software development workflow
• Strong team and business communication skills
• Must thrive in fast-paced environments and work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Education: AI/Analytics/CS/Engineering related degrees preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of advanced generative AI models including LLMs
• Oversee end-to-end data science lifecycle from data acquisition to model optimization
• Develop and deploy ML algorithms optimized for performance and scalability
• Mentor junior data scientists and promote knowledge sharing
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate models into practical solutions
• Implement AI solutions that integrate with existing business systems
• Review data quality and identify data cleansing needs
• Design data models and migrate data across systems
• Analyze cloud computing trends and big data technologies
• Peer review models and ensure fitness for purpose
• Automate infrastructure for the data science team
• Stay current with AI trends and suggest improvements
