Job Description

RCH Solutions is seeking a Generative AI Architect todesign, develop and implement AI solutions in support of our customers’ scientific initiatives.This role will focus on designing, developing, and implementing generative AI solutions to support cutting-edge research initiatives, including drug discovery, personalized medicine, bioinformatics, and clinical research. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AI/ML, particularly in generative models, and a strong understanding of life sciences applications to accelerate research outcomes and drive scientific breakthroughs. You will use your experience in these technologies to provide top of the line consulting services and recommendations to clients. These would be performed as part of customer research or analytics initiatives as well as in a consultative, advisory, or customer support manner.

Specific focuses and responsibilities include:

• Architect and develop generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, transformers, diffusion models) tailored to life sciences research challenges, such as molecular design, protein folding, or genomic data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, chemists, bioinformaticians, and data scientists, to identify research needs and translate them into scalable AI-driven solutions.
• Work with complex, multimodal datasets (e.g., genomic, proteomic, clinical, and imaging data) to build robust AI pipelines that ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
• Optimize generative AI models for performance, scalability, and interpretability, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of life sciences applications.
• Architect and design complex systems that integrate GenAI applications, machine learning models, and cloud infrastructure
• Lead architectural decisions across AI workflows: model training, deployment, monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management
• Collaborating with cross-discipline team members and customers to deliver HPC and peripheral Compute at Scale services
• Thorough understanding of related industry best practices
• Supporting internal and customer Architecture and Design efforts
• Supporting customers with their workflow pipelines (advisory and hands-on)
  
  

Essential Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in machine learning or AI architecture roles, across ML/NLP/LLM systems
• 3+ years as an architect or technical lead with systems-level experience
• Proven track record of delivering AI solutions for complex scientific problems
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, spaCY), and data processing techniques
• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
• Experience with AI Cloud Platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI) for scalable deployment of AI models
• Strong time-management skills; able to complete projects in a timely manner, plan and prioritize tasks while keeping leadership and stakeholders updated regularly on status
• Excellent communication skills, including preparation of written documentation for IT colleagues and end users
• Proactive thinking skills to identify potential issues and solution options prior to incidents occurring
• Ability to understand and analyze complex technical problems and situations
• Candidates must be a passionate engineer with a strong vision and a desire to stay on top of trends in the Scientific Computing sector
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to take a project from start to finish with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

RCH provides services and solutions for the unique challenges of Life Sciences advanced computing, and leverages teams with cross-functional IT skills to meet these challenges. The ideal candidates for this role will have experience working with cross-functional IT (Public Cloud skills being a plus) and sciences skillsets.

• 2+ years of experience in the life sciences industry, supporting research in areas like drug discovery, genomics, or clinical trials.
• Experience with drug discovery using generative protein models (e.g., AlphaFold)
• Strong understanding of life sciences concepts, including molecular biology, pharmacology, or clinical research.
• Experience with regulatory and ethical considerations in life sciences (e.g., FDA, EMA guidelines)
