Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support HR operations in the United States. You’ll advise on employee relations, administer HR policies, and oversee day-to-day HR transactions in collaboration with a shared services team.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, at least 1 year of HR Generalist experience, knowledge of FMLA/LOA and employment laws, and the ability to travel 25-50%. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 1 year of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent.
• Experience with basic business and customer service principles, including planning, organizing, resource management and leadership.
• Experience with FMLA, LOA and other state and federal employment laws.
• Experience supporting employee relations and strategic HR initiatives with confidential information.
• Functional knowledge of payroll software, HRIS programs and Microsoft Office.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including travel 25-50%.

Responsibilities

• Provide employee relations guidance to employees and management; respond with sensitivity to needs.
• Oversee the day-to-day support of HR transactions in collaboration with a shared services team.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations; assess, communicate, interpret and administer updated HR policies and procedures.
• Deliver benefits information to employees and ensure fair, equitable and consistent application of all policies.
• Assist with investigating employee-related issues, incidents and complaints; resolve disputes and recommend remedial actions.
• Support hiring managers and internal teams by interviewing, presenting offers, facilitating candidate logistics, onboarding and training/orientation process.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures or information.
• Support a values-driven environment through consultation and service regarding employee engagement activities.

What you’ll need to succeed as an Human Resources Generalist at XPO

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 1 year of experience as a Human Resources (HR) Generalist or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with basic business and customer service principles, including planning, organizing, resource management and leadership skills
• Experience with FMLA, LOA and other state and federal employment laws
• Experience supporting employee relations and strategic HR initiatives including handling sensitive, complex and confidential information
• Demonstrate functional knowledge of payroll software, HRIS programs and Microsoft Office

• Available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend work; travel 25-50% of the time

Preferred qualifications:

• Support hiring managers and internal teams by interviewing, presenting offers, facilitating candidate logistics, scheduling onboarding and administering the training/orientation process
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs or information regarding HR policies, procedures or information
• Support a values-driven environment through consultation and service regarding employee engagement activities
