Job summary

Abacus Staffing in Chambersburg, PA seeks a Warehouse Packer/Stacker/Sorter for a night shift, Mon-Fri 10:50 PM–finish (roughly 7:00 AM). You will package finished product, prepare corrugate, and stack/shrink-wrap boxes on pallets per customer specs while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting products for defects, delivering raw materials to lines, and monitoring packaging quality and process timing.

Qualifications

Abacus Staffing is seeking Warehouse Packer/Stacker/Sorters in Chambersburg, PA.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:50PM- until Finish roughly 7AM.

Pay: 18.25/hr

General Job description:

The Packer/Stacker/Sorter is responsible for packaging finished product off the packing lines into specified corrugate, staging corrugate and stacking/shrink wrapping boxes on pallets per company and customer specifications and sorting out undesired product and foreign material from the product stream.

Principle functions of the job:

• Adhere to all current GMP’s, food safety requirements and company policies
• Visually inspect product prior to packing for any defects, quality, foreign material or other issues that do not meet customer specifications; discard unsatisfactory quality product
• Support packing machines and packers by delivering raw materials to production line
• Hand stack finished cases according to customer specifications while verifying package/corrugate quality of the finished product including but not limited to defects, date code information, case labels, pallet labels, pallet type and slip sheets
• Check metal detectors, inspect and hand pack bags of chips into boxes in a fast environment under constant pressure of the production line
• Assemble boxes, apply stickers, pack cases according to customer specifications while verifying the package quality of the finished product including but not limited to bag seals, defects, date code information, pricing information, package weight and case labels
• Monitor seasoner and seasoning levels to ensure consistent seasoning/salt is applied based upon specifications
• Understand production schedule to set up packing machines and meet the designated production schedule
• Oversee quality and food safety of finished material coming from the fry room and in preparation for shipping
• Ensure all waste from packing rooms and sorting areas is removed as needed throughout the day and all waste containers and bins are emptied for incoming shift
• Repack/rework product as necessary, handle rework product appropriately
• Document and log all required information accurately and timely
• Alert management of any problems found during packing/stacking/sorting inspections, monitor equipment and report malfunctions to maintenance and management
• Use material handling equipment as necessary and trained including but not limited to stretch wrapper, pallet jack, forklift and loader
• Comfortable working in high paced, wet, oily and noisy environment
• Maintain a clean, organized work area (including equipment) and environment
