Job summary

Core-Mark in Gardiner, ME is looking for Warehouse Sorters to support our distribution operations. You will sort, stack, and carton totes on pallets to maximize space and ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include moving inbound/outbound products, stocking, pulling orders, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Shifts offered include 3:00pm or 6:00am starts, with 4-day work week options.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products weighing 10-35 lbs and up to 50-90 lbs depending on location.
  • Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
  • Able to obtain certifications for powered equipment such as Forklift operation.
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Position Details

Warehouse Sorters play a critical role in ensuring that the warehouse runs smoothly. Sorting, arranging, and organizing cartons and totes onto pallets according to specific instructions for ease of delivery. Sorters are responsible for arranging and stacking cartons and totes in a way that maximizes space and ensures easy access by placing items in a systematic manner.

  • Pay: $18.50 - $22.00/hour (depending on position, will be discussed further in an interview)
  • Schedules available: (depending on position, will be discussed further in an interview)
    • 4-day work week (Monday - Thursday)
    • 4-day work week (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Shifts available: (depending on position, will be discussed further in an interview)
    • 3:00pm to finish
    • 6:00am to finish
Position Purpose

Warehouse associates are the foundation to our company's success. They work actively, safely, and independently to maintain the efficient flow of products through our distribution process, while ensuring quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

The Warehouse Person moves and tracks all inbound, outbound, and stored products within the warehouse. Offloads, stocks, selects, and replenishes products. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures placement of product in sufficient quantities to accommodate routine or special demands.
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail by ensuring that proper attention is given to all areas including but not limited to: balers, aisles, racking, floors, door pits, and other areas as assigned.
  • Consolidates merchandise into picking containers as necessary.
  • Packs products securely in cartons and totes.
  • Ensures application of shipping ID and mark cartons/totes with truck run and stop number.
  • Pulls orders according to sequencing on delivery route/run list.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Performs end of shift tasks such as: charging power equipment and verifying completed work.
  • Maintains clean and orderly workstation; return supplies and merchandise to assigned locations.
  • Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
  • Ensure the work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves and conveyors, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to approximately 50 to 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift

Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry

Able to obtain certifications for powered equipment, such as Forklift operation

Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check

Preferred qualifications

1+ year of warehouse and/or distribution environment using forklift and/or pallet jack

Foodservice distribution or related industry experience

OSHA Forklift operator certificate
