Job summary

Description of Work

This is a repost. Previous applicants must reapply to be considered. The position is responsible for facilities and grounds maintenance, assisting with various construction and woodworking projects, and performing general janitorial services as assigned by the supervisor. This position requires experience in operating outdoor power equipment such as lawn mower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, leaf blower etc. and perform other duties such as pulling weeds, mulching, shoveling and raking as well as watering grass and flower beds. This position will be assigned to the Carpentry Shop, and the applicant should have basic knowledge of hand tools. Other duties include assisting the carpenter shop with various construction and woodworking projects, such as building wooden boxes, decks, and porches etc. The primary role is to support the crew. The position is exposed to heat, cold and dust. The position requires physical effort as found in cleaning and general land scaping maintenance. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.

Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC01 $31,200-$48,810

  • Experience moving relatively heavy objects and completing manual tasks for considerable periods of time
  • Experience using small hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, post hole diggers, hammers, screwdrivers, torches, etc.
  • Experience operating power equipment such as lawn mowers, hand trimmers, air compressors, weed eaters, skill saws, drills, etc.
