Nirvana Healthcare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Ultrasound Technician to join our team in Newark, NJ. This role focuses on high-quality imaging across abdominal, renal, pelvic, and soft tissue exams, with opportunities to work with vascular studies and advanced techniques.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• ARDMS or CCI certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, RDCS, RCS, or RVT.
• RV T (Registered Vascular Technologist) – preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations per protocols and physician requests.
• Conduct abdominal ultrasounds to evaluate liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys.
• Evaluate renal ultrasound for kidney pathology and vascular abnormalities.
• Perform pelvic imaging including transabdominal and transvaginal exams.
• Perform thyroid, scrotal, and prostate ultrasound as applicable.
• Receive vascular ultrasound training and perform Doppler studies of carotids, aorta, renal, and peripheral vessels.
• Prepare patients and position them for optimal imaging while preserving comfort and privacy.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and proper labeling before interpretation submission.
