SCOPE OF JOB

We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Mechanic with 1-2 years of experience in maintenance and repair work. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience with a variety of maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities. This role involves ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and infrastructure while adhering to safety protocols.

Job Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair:

• Performs routine maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning of equipment and facilities.
• Conducts inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
• Maintains detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.

Equipment Operation:

• Safely operates forklifts and other equipment to transport materials and tools within the facility.
• Loads and unloads materials from trucks and storage areas, ensuring proper handling and organization.
• Conducts pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on forklifts and other machinery.

Tool Utilization:

• Uses various hand and power tools to perform maintenance tasks, including cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembly.
• Collaborates with team members to optimize maintenance processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition and reports any issues.

Safety And Compliance:

• Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance activities.
• Participates in safety training and maintains a safe work environment.
• Handles hazardous materials and heavy loads according to safety guidelines.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience operating forklifts and familiarity with forklift safety protocols.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools used in maintenance work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a vocational or technical training program in maintenance or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Work is performed in a manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
