Job description

Position Summary:

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the functionality, condition, and safety of university buildings and infrastructure. This role involves routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing doors, windows, locks, and other structural components. In addition, the technician will patch and paint walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

A versatile, skilled individual with experience in various trades and a commitment to maintaining a high-standard learning environment.

Education:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

Experience:

• Five years of recent (within the last fifteen years) experience in multiple trades, including locks, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall, and other minor construction and repair skills in an educational or institutional environment.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall, and other minor construction and repair skills.

Licenses | Certifications:

• A current and valid PA driver’s license.
