An established industry player in public health is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician to ensure the smooth operation of facilities. This role involves performing a variety of skilled tasks, including maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of health department buildings. With a focus on safety and efficiency, the technician will engage in preventive maintenance and assist during emergencies. Under direct supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled work, repair, and maintenance to health department buildings and related structures.
Starting salary - $32,500
M-F work schedule, 13 Paid Holidays, Outstanding benefit package
All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment. Note: Some positions may require area specific certifications/licenses.
Preferred: Two plus years of general maintenance experience, basic plumbing/electrical knowledge, previous experience in Public Health/Healthcare setting.
