Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Corpus Christi, TX seeks a RN for the General Surgery - OR team on a full-time basis. The nurse provides routine and complex care in the surgical setting, works with physicians and staff, and uses the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

This role requires a BSN preferred and a Texas RN license; BLS is required. The schedule is 6:30AM to 3PM, and a $15K sign-on bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• BLS certification is required for Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
