Job summary

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join Olympia Fields Hospital in Illinois. You will provide a broad range of general surgery services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in call coverage for emergency and trauma services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery.
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
• Active or eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Strong clinical skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice and teamwork.
• Trauma/surgical critical care experience is a plus but not required; new graduates are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide array of general surgical procedures including hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, colorectal interventions, breast surgery, endocrine procedures, and basic thoracic/vascular cases.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in tumor boards, trauma rounds, and quality initiatives to optimize patient care and outcomes.
• Participate in call coverage for emergency and trauma services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance in our integrated EMR system.
