Job summary

St. Peters Health Partners Medical Associates in Troy, NY seeks a qualified General Surgery Physician Assistant to join our surgical team on a part-time basis. The PA will assist with procedures, manage pre- and post-operative care, and contribute to efficient, high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have graduation from an accredited PA program, NY licensure, NCCPA certification, and OR experience. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification by the NCCPA.
• Experience in general surgery or related field preferred.
• OR and inpatient floor coverage experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general surgery procedures (laparoscopic/open).
• Manage pre-operative assessments and post-operative care.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff for patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of histories, progress, and plans.
