The role emphasizes patient-centered care, meticulous documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. PA-C or ACNP certification and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PA program and PA-C certification.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong surgical and perioperative care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in general surgery procedures across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.
• Prepare patients for surgery with proper consent and pre-operative assessments.
• Handle surgical instruments and maintain sterile technique.
• Conduct patient assessments, history reviews, and diagnostic test interpretation.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement care plans.
• Monitor post-operative patients and manage pain and complications.
• Provide patient education on post-operative care and medications.
• Coordinate follow-up care and appointments.
• Communicate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to optimize care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure regulatory documentation compliance.
• Respond to emergencies in the surgical setting and participate in drills.
