Job summary

UVA Health Community Health seeks an Experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our General Surgery team in Culpeper, Virginia. The role encompasses outpatient visits, pre/post-operative management, and hospital consultations within a collegial, community-based surgical practice.

The position provides an outpatient clinic focus, opportunities to collaborate with a team of surgeons and nurses, and meaningful patient relationships in a supportive regional health system.

Qualifications

• Experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage outpatient clinic schedule averaging 18–22 patients per day.
• Conduct pre- and post-operative visits and support physician clinic sessions.
• Participate in hospital surgical consultations with the General Surgery team.
• Provide care at Culpeper Medical Center.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and medical assistants.
• Foster close patient relationships and continuity of care.
• No current scheduled call requirement.
