Position: General Surgeon Physician at Baptist Health Fort Smith

Baptist Health Fort Smith is seeking a General Surgeon to join an existing team of four employed general surgeons. This 492-bed facility offers significant growth opportunities, serving over 68,000 ER visits annually. Additionally, the nearby 103-bed sister hospital in Van Buren, just 15 minutes away, handles over 27,000 visits per year. The draw area covers a large part of Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, with more than 40 clinics and over 100 employed providers. Baptist Health Fort Smith is a full-service hospital with 10 ORs, offering a broad range of specialties including interventional radiology and intensivist coverage in its 24-bed ICU. The facility also features Da Vinci robotic surgery systems, including the XI and SI models. Physician clinics are conveniently located within walking distance of the hospital.

Fort Smith, situated on the Arkansas River, is the third-largest city in Arkansas with a population of approximately 90,000. It offers diverse dining and shopping options and rich historical and cultural attractions, such as the Fort Smith National Historic Site, which highlights the city’s frontier-era origins, along with other historic sites and museums that attract visitors nationwide.
