An established healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist to join its team in Fort Smith. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a thriving practice in a supportive environment, with the potential to collaborate with a respected existing physician. The facility is well-equipped, providing a range of specialties and services, ensuring comprehensive patient care. Fort Smith, known for its rich history and vibrant community, offers a fulfilling lifestyle for both personal and professional growth. If you are passionate about patient care and looking to make a significant impact in the community, this role is ideal for you.
Baptist Health Fort Smith (BHFS) is recruiting a Gastroenterologist. Currently, there is only one employed Gastroenterologist at BHFS, and the need for additional physicians is growth-related. The existing physician has been practicing for 14 years and is well established, busy, and highly respected by patients. A PA also works in the practice, seeing patients in the hospital and managing follow-up appointments. The clinic is located on the BHFS campus. This is an employed opportunity with flexible arrangements, allowing the new physician to join the existing provider or establish a new practice and share call. Given BHFS has only one Gastroenterologist, there is significant opportunity for a new physician to quickly build a busy practice.
Baptist Health Fort Smith is a 492-bed hospital with an emergency department, intensive care unit, outpatient imaging, and surgery center. The system also includes a 103-bed hospital in Van Buren and over 40 clinic locations. Baptist Health employs nearly 100 providers in Western Arkansas and collaborates with independent and contracted physicians to deliver quality care. Baptist Health-Fort Smith, formerly Sparks Regional Medical Center, was built in 1887 and is Arkansas’s first hospital.
