Note: This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. The General Surgeon will provide preoperative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care.
  2. All Healthcare Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow-up care as required.
  3. Participate in meetings and task force groups to improve quality, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay informed about new developments, efforts, and policies.
  4. Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  5. Participate and advise in Mass Casualty Exercises/Events.
  6. Assist with managing daily activities and prioritizing tasks.
  7. Use a personal computer to access email, electronic calendars, and support software.
  8. Comply with all applicable standards and guidelines.
  9. Attend and participate in meetings and task forces for quality improvement and policy updates.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience.
  • Recent clinical experience of at least 6 months within the past year for all healthcare providers and medical support staff.
  • Completed General Surgery Residency within the U.S. or an equivalent Western country.
  • U.S. or Canadian Board Certification.
  • Current unrestricted U.S. state license.
  • Maintain current certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS or CPR.
  • Participate in HIPAA training.
  • Desirable: Recent completion of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or similar advanced trauma course; trauma fellowship completion is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work primarily in an interior/office environment.
  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
