***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. The General Surgeon will provide preoperative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care.
  2. All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow-up care required.
  3. Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay updated on new developments, policies, and efforts.
  4. Maintain respect for patient dignity and observe the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  5. Participate in and advise on Mass Casualty Exercises/Events.
  6. Assist with managing daily activities and prioritizing tasks.
  7. Operate a personal computer to access email, calendars, and office software.
  8. Comply with all applicable standards and guidelines.
  9. Attend and participate in various meetings and task forces to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, and stay informed on new policies.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  2. Recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months in the past year for all healthcare providers and support staff.
  3. Completed General Surgery Residency within the United States or an equivalent Western country.
  4. U.S. or Canadian Board Certification.
  5. Current unrestricted U.S. (State) medical license.
  6. Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and BLS or CPR.
  7. Participation in HIPAA training.
  8. Desirable: Recent completion of TCCC or similar advanced trauma course with live tissue or high-fidelity simulation training.
  9. Completion of a trauma fellowship is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  1. Work is typically performed in an interior/office environment.
  2. Prolonged sitting and standing are involved.
