Job summary

Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA is seeking a full-time board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon - Surgical Hospitalist to join our surgical team. The physician will provide comprehensive general surgical evaluation and management, perform procedures, and coordinate perioperative care with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers flexible scheduling and call arrangements, with options for block scheduling and 24-hour call shifts based on department needs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO is required.
• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery.
• Active Pennsylvania medical license and DEA registration.
• Strong surgical and patient communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of general surgical conditions.
• Perform general surgical procedures aligned with training, experience, and clinical privileges.
• Provide inpatient surgical consultations for urgent and emergent surgical conditions.
• Coordinate preoperative and postoperative care and transitions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain complete and accurate EHR documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
