Job summary

Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA, is seeking a full-time, on-site General Cardiologist to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in outpatient and inpatient settings. Emphasis on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of cardiovascular disease with collaboration across primary care providers, specialists, and hospital teams.

The role includes performing evaluations, managing diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, inpatient consultations, and team education

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease preferred.
• Active Pennsylvania medical license and DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiovascular evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
• Interpret and manage ECGs, stress tests, echocardiograms, Holter monitors, and other cardiovascular diagnostic studies.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and manage cardiovascular medications and therapies.
• Provide inpatient consultations and follow‑up care as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular health, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation.
• Participate in shared call coverage and quality improvement initiatives.
