Job summary

LifePoint Health is seeking a General Surgeon to provide high-quality surgical care in a community hospital setting. You will perform elective and emergency procedures, manage pre- and post-operative care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates are mission-driven, patient-focused, and committed to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and service to diverse populations. You will participate in call coverage, quality initiatives, and clinical process improvement

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
• Unrestricted state medical license or eligibility.
• ACLS certification.
• ATLS certification preferred.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and specialists to coordinate care.
• Participate in call coverage for surgical emergencies.
• Document care accurately in the EMR.
• Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery.
• Supervise and mentor residents or advanced practice providers as applicable.
