Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Locum General Surgeon to support hospital and clinic clients. The role entails providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient general surgical care, including elective and emergency procedures, with pre- and post-operative management and on-call coverage.

Applicants must have an MD/DO, completion of an ACGME-accredited residency, board eligibility/certification, and an active license with ACLS/BLS and DEA registrations. Travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in General Surgery (ABMS/AOBOS).
• Active, unrestricted medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient general surgical care for Jobot client hospitals and facilities.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgery procedures using open and laparoscopic techniques.
• Deliver pre-operative evaluation, informed consent, and post-operative management.
• Participate in on-call coverage, consults, and emergent surgical interventions.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, anesthesiologists, specialists, and nursing teams for coordinated care.
• Document all care accurately and timely within facility EMR systems.
• Adhere to hospital bylaws, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Travel to various client sites as needed and adapt to different hospital environments.
