Job summary

Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton is seeking a General Surgeon to diagnose and treat patients. Responsibilities include maintaining detailed patient records, coordinating with other medical professionals, and promoting overall patient health through treatment and post-operative care.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO degree and have an active New York State medical license, along with a minimum of 5 years of surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing illnesses and injuries.
• Prescribing medications for preventive measures and aftercare.
• Developing post-operation treatment plans to promote overall health of the patient.
• Maintaining detailed patient records on paper or digitally.
• Working under the supervision of hospital administration to comply with facility guidelines.
• Adhering to safety and cleanliness standards in the operating room.

• Coordinating with other medical professionals to ensure successful operations.
• Scheduling follow-up visits with patients.

Skills

Proven work experience as a general surgeon or similar role

Has manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and visuospatial awareness

Organizational and time-management skills

Great management and leadership skills

Relevant training and/or certifications as a general surgeon

Education

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree

Active medical license in New York State

Active certification for The American Board of Surgery

At least five (5) years of surgical experience
