Summary

The General Superintendent Mechanical will manage the project team members related to their craft, establish standards, and provide training and leadership for the construction team and department. This position reports to the Field Operations Manager or another designated management personnel. It is a hybrid role, working from home and various job sites, with working hours Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am to 6:00 pm local time. Overtime and weekend work may be required. The role involves travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and lead superintendents and their craft throughout the project
2. Develop detailed CPM schedules for all installation activities and a schedule of values for billing
3. Coordinate activities, schedules, material procurement, logistics, and temporary facilities with project management and field staff
4. Review and approve materials/equipment for Mechanical/Structural systems, monitor installation and startup, and resolve conflicts
5. Prepare reports and communicate progress to project managers, directors, and owners
6. Review contract documents and suggest improvements
7. Supervise, develop, and mentor Project Engineers
8. Review and coordinate submittals and shop drawings
9. Collaborate with team members for effective communication and results
10. Provide cost estimates, evaluate project sites, and track costs and productivity
11. Perform other duties as assigned
12. Maintain regular attendance as per company policy

Qualifications

• 7+ years of site supervision experience
• Proven track record on large projects (> $20 million, electrical portions)
• Thorough knowledge of Construction Codes
• Medium-voltage experience
• Understanding of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes
• Experience with subcontracts and subcontractors
• 5-7 years managing major projects, preferably in power stations or utility-scale projects
• 2+ years solar PV or wind power project experience preferred
• Knowledge of industrial relations, safety, conflict management, and multi-tasking
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel up to 75%
