Role Description

We are seeking a General Superintendent/Assistant Resident Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our construction management team in the NYC Metropolitan Area. This role involves overseeing construction projects, including a new boiler building at a NYCHA development in Brooklyn, NY, supporting the Assistant Project Manager/Resident Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day construction activities, including resident engineering, inspection, and contractor oversight.
• Manage and mentor inspection staff, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
• Review sub-consultant invoices and manage field office documentation.
• Engage proactively with contractors to resolve issues and review project schedules and changes.
• Coordinate with design teams, NYCHA staff, and other stakeholders to facilitate construction activities.
• Provide technical reviews of plans and specifications, and oversee site safety and compliance.
• Support contractor payment processes and communicate effectively with all project parties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience, including 2 years in a similar role for NYC public agencies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Proficiency with construction software such as eBuilder, MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• New York Professional Engineer License.
• CCM Certification.
