Overview

Our company is looking to hire a Rockfall General Superintendent. The General Superintendent is a key role for driving the success of the organization. The primary responsibilities include ensuring safety, quality, delivery, production, costs, and training objectives. The General Superintendent serves as a member of the Frontline Operations Team and reports to the Operations Director for day-to-day operations. This is a full-time position that requires significant travel.

Who is Access Limited Construction?

Access Limited specializes in steep slopes, mitigation of landslides, rockslides, and rockfall. We have extensive experience installing rock anchors and bolts, building retaining walls in difficult areas, and installing all types of rock mesh and netting, including cable net mesh, ring nets, hexagonal wire mesh, and Tecco mesh.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all crew members.
• Manage daily operations and ensure Superintendents adhere to company processes.
• Maintain compliance with daily logs, checklists, photo submissions, as-builts, documentation, HR, and expense reports.
• Develop and hold Superintendents accountable for their crews.
• Support pre-construction planning and monitor project performance, including duration and cost.
• Review and approve daily logs and expense reports daily.
• Manage workforce planning and hiring for all crews.
• Coach and mentor Superintendents and ensure they do the same for their crews.
• Manage crew travel and ensure appropriate crew fit for each project.
• Ensure equipment maintenance, cleanliness, and documentation.
• Oversee quality and testing programs on projects.
• Manage certifications and training to ensure staff are qualified.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication across all project groups.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Moderate software/platform knowledge, all safety certifications, Work Breakdown Structure, LEAN processes.

Job Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in construction, preferably geotechnical construction, including job management and knowledge of building products and services.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Superintendent.
• Experience in geotechnical construction or rockfall.
• Ability to interpret scope, specifications, blueprints, and customer plans while meeting profitability goals.
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate teams.
• Decisive, analytical, and capable of working cross-functionally.
• Flexible work schedule, with or without notice.
• Proficient with company tech hardware and web-based systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report.
