Job summary

Mattingly Construction is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee field operations across our active project portfolio. You will own jobsite execution end to end — schedule, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and manpower — and serve as the primary link between field Superintendents and our project management/executive team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience.
• 3+ years in a superintendent or general superintendent role.
• Experience overseeing multiple concurrent commercial projects.
• OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support Superintendents across multiple concurrent jobsites (15–20 active projects).
• Set and enforce jobsite standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust master schedules with Project Managers.
• Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, manpower loading, and material logistics.
• Conduct site visits; identify and resolve field issues before impacting schedule or budget.
• Mentor field Superintendents and foremen; support hiring and onboarding.
• Lead pre-construction planning and site logistics.
• Collaborate on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and PCOs.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and drive a proactive safety culture.
• Report field progress, risks, and manpower needs to leadership.
• Work in Procore.

We're looking for a General Superintendent to oversee field operations across our active project portfolio. This role owns jobsite execution end to end — schedule, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and manpower — and serves as the primary link between our Superintendents in the field and our project management/executive team.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and support Superintendents across multiple concurrent jobsites (typically 15–20 active projects)
• Set and enforce jobsite standards for safety, quality, and productivity, consistent with our S.A.F.E.T.Y. values framework
• Develop, monitor, and adjust master schedules in coordination with Project Managers
• Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, manpower loading, and material logistics across sites
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections; identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget
• Mentor and develop field Superintendents and foremen; support hiring and onboarding of field staff
• Lead or support pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and site logistics planning
• Partner with Project Managers on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and PCOs affecting field execution
• Ensure OSHA compliance and drive a proactive safety culture across all jobsites
• Report field progress, risks, and manpower needs to ownership and executive leadership
• Work in Procore

What You Bring

• 10+ years of commercial construction experience, with 3+ years in a superintendent or general superintendent role
• Proven track record overseeing multiple concurrent commercial projects (institutional, medical/dental, retail, or industrial preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of scheduling, means and methods, and subcontractor management
• OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Excellent communication skills — able to work effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams
• A leadership style that develops people, not just projects
• Willingness to travel between jobsites across Central Indiana
