The general services technician provides routine administrative and paraprofessional support in functions such as fleet management, facilities maintenance, facilities management, and procurement. Responsibilities include resolving routine issues independently and referring complex questions to appropriate personnel. Tasks are performed under moderate supervision.

MoDOT will consider candidates at entry-level, intermediate, or senior level based on skills and experience. This is a CAREER-LADDER position, offering opportunities for advancement without a competitive interview. As you learn new skills and gain experience, promotions to higher levels are possible.

What You’ll Do
  • Collect data from vendors, contractors, and government agencies for assigned operations.
  • Verify and process payments to vendors, political subdivisions, and contractors.
  • Prepare and issue specifications and bid invitations; review bids for accuracy; develop and distribute bid summaries.
  • Purchase materials, parts, equipment, and supplies within limits; prepare purchase orders and monitor vendor contracts.
  • Maintain databases and spreadsheets related to fleet, facilities, procurement, travel, distribution, and equipment repair.

  • Occasional statewide overnight travel required
