Job Description

The General Service Technician is a full-time or part-time hourly position responsible for performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance according to company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service, effective communication regarding vehicle issues, and ensuring guest satisfaction with time and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

1. Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and accurately.
2. Conduct tire services including removal, balancing, repairs, mounting, and TPMS work.
3. Carry out vehicle services such as oil changes, lubrication, bulb and filter replacements, and battery testing/installation.
4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services.
5. Assist in inventory management and store duties to maintain cleanliness and readiness.
6. Follow safety standards, including torque procedures and safety protocols.
7. Test drive vehicles following company policies, observing traffic laws and safety procedures.
8. Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, and safety regulations.
9. Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing training and certification.
10. Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts and diagnostic tools.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Automotive training or experience in basic vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Compensation

Hourly range: $16.00-$18.00, with potential incentives based on experience.
