Facilities and Maintenance Manager
The General Service Technician will perform a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled repairs and maintenance of the agency’s buildings, grounds, and vehicles in accordance with all local, state, federal, and agency policies. All facilities and equipment will be kept in a hygienic, safe, and presentable condition. They will assist the Facilities and Maintenance Manager in coordinating outside service vendors and volunteers when needed to restore facilities, equipment, or grounds to proper condition. They will also substitute custodians as needed, including tasks like mopping, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and taking out the garbage.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facility management. Knowledge of light construction, painting, assembling furniture, and general work as needed. Two years of college and/or technical school training and Universal EPA certification preferred. Ability to transport equipment and staff to multiple locations. Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License. Willingness to participate in a professional organization and to obtain ongoing training in facility management. Ability to relate well to children and adults.
