Overview
Big O General Service Technicians perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities
- Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires and properly torque wheels; check and fill various fluids; check and replace various filters and lights.
- Unload tires and other merchandise and supplies from transport trucks and warehouse deliveries.
- Inspect disposed tires for adjustment and properly store or dispose of tires.
- Clean facilities, tools, and equipment and stock shelves.
- Consistently and courteously greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly customer service.
- Promote sales through explaining benefits of service and products to customers.
- Perform all necessary sales duties per company policy and procedure; including, but not limited to proper pricing, knowledge and implementation of promotions and sales, suggestive selling, proper vendor check-in, stocking merchandise.
- Maintain internal and external store appearance to comply with Big O Tires standards.
- Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions, moving vehicles as needed to, and away from, service areas.
- Complete daily training such as Today’s Class Technician and other required training.
- Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
- Keep supervisor informed of any maintenance problems and/or issues that need attention.
- Assist in the proper training of new employees as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to company and position policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Be at least 17 years old (with parental consent) or older.
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
- Operate a computer and other office machinery consistently.
- Safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with customers.
- Willingness to work with hazardous materials.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Follow PPE regulations.
- Have good vision, hearing, speech, and sense of smell.
- Be able to move and retrieve items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after hours as needed.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Meet company requirements including pre-employment screenings.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Note: Ability to obtain a Current Motor Vehicle Inspection within 6 months (for Missouri stores).
Preferred Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to work quickly.
