Job Description

The General Service Technician role is full time or part-time and is an hourly position based on the needs of the business. The technician is responsible for performing basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role involves delivering exceptional 5-star service to guests by effectively communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while ensuring guest expectations for time and quality are met.

Responsibilities

1. Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently, following Monro standards.
2. Tire Services – wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
3. Vehicle Services – lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, filter replacements), battery testing and installation.
4. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, identifying and communicating additional needed services.
5. Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
6. Maintain store cleanliness and ensure it is guest-ready, in line with Monro standards.
7. Perform services adhering to safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
8. Test drive vehicles following Monro’s Road Test policy, observing all traffic and safety laws.
9. Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, environmental codes, and OSHA standards.
10. Maintain technical knowledge through completion of Monro University training.
11. Operate and maintain all equipment safely, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
12. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating initiative in problem-solving and decision-making.
13. Exhibit strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
