Job Summary

Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. A Radiologic Technologist performs a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and acquires and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. They independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

Job Duties
  • Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Prepares and/or administers medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post‑processing of data if applicable.
  • Educates and monitors students and other healthcare providers.
  • Assists the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic and non‑interpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, including those performed outside of the Radiology Department (e.g., operating room, endoscopy, ICU, etc.).
  • Works in a clinical environment and is accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
Position Details

New graduates must obtain an ARRT‑R registry within 6 months of the date of hire. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete the steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months.

Education

Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study (Preferred).

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of related work experience (Preferred).

Certification & License
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
