Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG) is seeking a General Pulmonologist to join a growing pulmonary program within a physician-led system. This position offers outpatient and inpatient care with access to advanced diagnostic services, a supportive team, and a focus on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine.
• Active Maryland physician medical license (or ability to obtain).
• Current DEA license and Maryland CDS license.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider).
• Unrestricted medical license with no history of suspension or revocation.
• Eligible for participation with all payers.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows and close relationships with referrals and partners to grow programs.
• Perform robotic bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube placement.
• Interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and pulmonary function tests.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of pulmonary disorders (e.g., COPD, asthma, pleural effusions, nodules).
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care.
• Document high-quality, compliant clinical notes in the EMR and support clinic access and throughput.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives (e.g., lung cancer screening rates).
• Participate in practice call coverage and meetings as required.

About The Role

The General Pulmonologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient pulmonary care, managing a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions while collaborating closely with primary care providers, hospitalists, specialists, and care teams throughout the health system.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows and close relationships with referrals and community partners to continue to grow the Incidental Nodule and Lung Cancer Screening Programs
• Proficient and Experienced in Robotic Bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube placement
• Interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, imaging, pulmonary function test
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of pulmonary disorders, including COPD, asthma, pleural effusions, sarcoid, lung nodules etc.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document high-quality, compliant clinical notes in the EMR and support clinic access, throughput, and patient experience
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes (e.g., lung cancer screening rates, timeliness to diagnosis and treatment)
• Participate in practice call coverage and practice meetings as required

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine

• Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
• Unrestricted medical license with no history of suspension or revocation
