Job summary

Aerotek in Chicago Heights, IL is looking for a General Production Worker to support multiple lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role involves prep work, weighing products, setting up lines, packaging, labeling, and basic quality checks on a contract-to-hire basis.

The position is onsite with 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7:30 am–4:00 pm) and potential overtime; PPE and steel-toed boots are required. Training is provided, with opportunities to progress toward an operator role.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, particularly with chemicals, food, or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience working around machinery.
• Desire to progress to an operator role.
• Proficiency in weighing, staging, and handling chemicals.
• Strong mechanical inclination.

Work Environment

The work environment is set in an older manufacturing building in Chicago Heights, featuring more production lines than other locations. The facility is temperature-controlled, though it can get warmer with machinery running. The role requires working near kettles or packaging lines, and steel‑toed boots are mandatory. Be prepared to work around chemicals (none harmful) and adapt to different tasks throughout the day. The 1st shift operates from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm, with potential overtime on Saturdays, and the 3rd shift starts Sunday night at 11:30 pm and ends at 8 am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago Heights, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.20/hr.
