Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking an entry-level production worker in Porterville, CA to support our ready-to-eat production lines. You will train with the supervisor to operate safely and efficiently, maintaining GMP standards and assisting with reports.

Responsibilities include following schedules, rotating tasks, and helping colleagues to meet production goals. Must read/write English and perform basic math; physical lifting is required.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required/preferred.
• Ability to communicate production details to supervision and management.
• Strong reading/writing in English; basic math including percentages.

• Follows break and lunch schedules as determined by department supervisor.

• Strives to achieve pre-determined plant production goals and schedules.
• Assists co-workers in performing department job tasks safely and efficiently.
• Assists in the completion of reports (e.g., production, QC, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor (hand out supplies, safety inspections etc.).

Pay Range

$21.50 (Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00 pm-11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

Job Description

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to communicate production details to department supervision and the management team
• Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and be able to read, and write in English
• Must be able to perform math calculations to include percentages
• Must be able to follow detailed instructions and multi-task duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (8-10 hours) on uneven surfaces, and work in wet, cold and/or hot environments
• Must be able to solve and correct minor problems and adjustments to production equipment
• Must be able to work flexible hours and be able to lift 5-50lbs
• Must have a good safety, performance & attendance record
• Previous experience operating production machinery preferred
