A mixed animal practice located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Mount Airy, North Carolina, is seeking a passionate associate veterinarian to join their team. With a second location in Galax, Virginia, both recently renovated, this well-established practice has been serving the community since 1966 with a commitment to compassionate, family-centered care.
The practice offers a diverse and rewarding caseload, treating small animals, equines, food animals, and even providing exotic care and wildlife rehabilitation. With state-of-the-art equipment, including an onsite Idexx lab, ultrasound, digital radiography, tonometry, advanced surgical capabilities, electrocautery, and cold laser therapy, veterinarians are equipped to provide the highest level of care. For equine patients, portable radiography, ultrasound, and power dentistry are available.
The team consists of five dedicated doctors supported by a 22-member support staff, including licensed veterinary technicians skilled in surgical monitoring, catheterization, and wound care. Assistants are well-trained in restraint and client education, ensuring seamless collaboration and outstanding patient care.
While ideally seeking a mixed animal practitioner, the practice is flexible and welcomes veterinarians with a desire to specialize. Emergency services are offered, but accommodations can be made to reduce on-call responsibilities. Additionally, nearby ER clinics and a veterinary college provide referral support when needed.
If you’re looking to work in a picturesque location, enjoy a strong sense of community, and have the freedom to shape your ideal veterinary role, this opportunity could be the perfect fit for you!
