The Medical Director will dedicate 80% of their time to clinical duties and 20% to leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality patient care while guiding the hospital’s medical team.
This role involves collaboration with the VP of Operations on budgeting, staffing, and hospital productivity, including quarterly KPI reviews. The Medical Director will oversee the implementation of medical protocols to ensure effective, patient-centered care and an excellent client experience. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining the doctor schedule to balance hospital needs with associate veterinarians’ workloads, mentoring and developing associate veterinarians through case discussions, performance reviews, and clinical coaching, and leading daily rounds and monthly team meetings to foster a positive hospital culture. Additionally, the Medical Director will work alongside the Hospital Operations Manager to enhance client experience and address concerns as needed, participate in the recruitment and retention of top veterinary talent, and serve as a representative within the veterinary community while upholding the hospital’s culture and values.
